Full Dragon is the by far most legendary and prestigous armour set in Runescape. The term “full” is Runescape jargon and refers to a complete melee armor set consisting of four parts; the full helm, platelegs, kiteshield and platebody. The distinct melee armour sets from low to high are bronze, iron, steel, black, mithril, adamant, rune and dragon.
There is also the Barrows armour, the Granite armour and the Dragonhide armour for ranger, and various robes for mages but they don’t really fit the “full” armour concept of bronze, iron, steel, black, mithril, adamant, rune and dragon. Unlike the other main armour types, Black and Dragon can’t be smithed - they must be found. Black must be aquired from monster drops and Dragon must be aquired through Quests and from certain monster drops.
Please note that the “full” standard does not encompass just any helm, body, legs and shield - it refers to the full helm, platebody, the platelegs and the kiteshield. The chainbody, the medium helm, chainskirt and square shield aren’t integral parts of the full armour standard. However, in the case of full dragon there was no platebody or full helm and there still is no kiteshield available in the game and because of that the full dragon came to consist of Dragon medium helm, Dragon chainbody, Dragon platelegs and Dragon square shield. The Dragon full helm was released in 2007 and the Dragon platebody in late 2008 and the full Dragon is now closer to what it should be: Dragon full helm, the Dragon platebody, Dragon platelegs and Dragon square shield.
